JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Healthcare Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, interpreting and analyzing statistical data to prepare comprehensive reports. Performs research and analyses in budgeting, financial trends, and produces forecast information as directed
JOB DUTIES
Financial Analysis:  50%
  • Prepares financial and operational feasibility studies.
  • Prepares short and long-range financial planning analysis for Regional CFO.
  • Analyzes and interprets actual costs versus standard costs.
  • Consolidates and analyzes all cost accounting procedures and other routing statistical or financial reports, including any desirable analysis of periodic departmental reports.
  • Proficient on using the Eclipsys cost accounting system for all types of analysis.
  • Proficient on using the Intellect system for further analysis.
  • Performs Service line analysis and assists with pro-forma development.
Month-End Closing Process:  30%
  • Participates with Month-end review processes.
  • Performs adhoc analysis as directed.
  • Coordinates with the Regional Hospitals on reporting & various projects.  
Budget Preparation:  20%
  • Assists in the preparation of the Region budget schedules.
  • Assists in the review and analysis of the accuracy of budgets by hospital.
  • Prepares budget variance analyses on general budget issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Required
  • Five+ years of healthcare accounting experience, Required
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
  •  CPA or FHFMA – highly desired
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain positive relationships and courteous interactions with hospital staff and the public.
  • Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
  • Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Personal Computer, Typewriter, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.
