Job Description:
  • The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit.
  • In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility.
  • Works with a unit specific patient population.
  • Comprehensive critical care services include, but are not limited to: Medical/Surgical, Neurologic/Neurosurgical, Medical/Interventional Cardiac, Obstetrics/Gyn, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Oncology.
Experience Required:
  • 3+ years’ experience in clinical area with 1+ years in an acute care ICU setting, or
  • Bachelor’s in Nursing Degree plus 2+ years’ experience in clinical area with 1+ years in an acute care ICU setting
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions.
  • Must possess good problem solving skills.
  • Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities – i.e. must have been in a supervisory/management position previously
Education Required:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Education Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or healthcare-related field -  from an accredited school of nursing
Licensure Required:
  • Active GA RN License
Certifications Required:
  • CPR
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required
Preferred Certifications:
  • National certification in specialty
